Even spread of winners at tourney

Winners and runners-up in this month’s Leamington Croquet Club tournament were, from left, Chris Lewendon, Nancy Strybosch, Don Lockart, Jeni Van Driel, Charlie Lyes, Fiona Hicks, David de Veth (from tournament sponsor Ryman Healthcare), Rebecca Mobey and Yvonne Hamilton.

The full field of players who took part in the November 14 tournament at Leamington Croquet Club came from Leamington, Matamata, Ōtorohanga, Te Awamutu, Hamilton East and Claudelands.  Games were close and some were won on a countback.

The winners in Division 1 were Nancy Strybosch and Chris Lewendon (Claudelands), with runners-up Rebecca Mobey (Hamilton East) and Yvonne Hamilton (Te Awamutu).  Winners in Division 2 were Jeni Van Driel and Fiona Hicks (Matamata), with runners-up Charlie Lyes (Leamington) and Don Lockart (Hamilton East).
