New partnership set to help families

Waipā Networks CEO Sean Horgan with Cambridge Community House general manager Gabby Byrne seal the new partnership with a handshake.

The Cambridge Community House Trust welcomed a new vehicle to its ranks on Monday, courtesy of a new sponsored community partnership with Waipā Networks.

The arrangement sees Waipā Networks sponsor the electric vehicle for house use in delivering its range of services.  Waipā Networks is also working with the house on other initiatives, including providing energy assessments to reduce household power costs and through distributing winter warmer packs to those in need.

General manager Gabby Byrne said the partnership aligned with her organisation’s core values and enabled them to serve the community more effectively.

“What makes this even more exciting is that this is an EV, meaning we become both more efficient and can work sustainably,” she said.  “Waipā Networks has shown their community spirit and their desire to work collaboratively within the community to achieve better outcomes for families.

“Relationships matter at our whare, and we are thrilled at not only getting the use of a car to extend our reach, but the offer to collaborate on other projects such as energy assessments and winter warmer packs.”

Waipā Networks chief executive Sean Horgan said the initiatives are part of the organisation’s commitment to support local families experiencing hardship.

“People like Gabby and her team do some amazing work supporting our community. To be able to help them in a way that also helps our environment is extremely rewarding for both myself and the Waipā Networks whanau,” he said.
