A Cambridge mum has been awarded for her bravery in saving the life of another resident.
Emma-Louise Sinclair, of Roto-o-Rangi, was given a police commendation by District Commander Superintendent Scott Gemmell.
At a police ceremony in April this year, Sinclair was recognised for her “extraordinary courage, compassion, and decisive action during a life-threatening incident” in 2025.
Superintendent Gemmell said Sinclair’s unwavering determination, physical endurance, and selfless commitment directly saved a life, and she was wholly deserving of formal recognition.
Sinclair said she was humbled by the award, which was an honour to receive.
“At the time of the incident there were so many people helping, we saw the best of humanity that day. We mustn’t forget that we live in a town of truly wonderful people, and there is always someone who cares,” she told The News.
No other details of the incident were available.
