Police say CCTV cameras in Tamahere village helped in the arrest of two people following a burglary last week.

A couple returned home to find their house has been broken into, and items – and a vehicle – stolen.
Investigators from the Waikato Tactical Crime Unit attended the Monday incident and identified a “local address of interest”.
The CCTV cameras have a number plate recognition system which identified a suspect and the stolen vehicle.
The stolen vehicle was identified in several thefts in Te Rapa later that night and the driver crashed it into a fence while attempting to elude police.
Police went to the local address and found stolen items in a vehicle parked at the rear of the property and spoke with people at the house.
A 29-year-old woman and 34-year-old man have appeared in the Hamilton District Court for breaching court release conditions. The 29-year-old next was remanded to appear again on February 19, and the 34 year old on April 20, both on bail.
Police expect to lay further charges.
Waikato District Council announced in the middle of last year it had secured funding to install CCTV cameras in Tamahere last year.
